Those sewing projects in Vero got my creative juices all sorts of rumbly, so I decided to borrow a cute idea from some friends and play with paint! You may remember our friends from Vero (and Elizabeth City, and Beafort, SC), Adamant, well they took the time before their departure from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to spruce up their dinghy motor with tiger stripes!
That little facelift made their dink so easy to spot and so adorably personalized, that JR and I started brainstorming ideas for our little 6 hp. It was pretty beat up looking anyway, we thought a paint job might do it some good. It didn’t take too long to decide that our motor should be an homage to our alma mater, The University of Maryland! I grabbed some green and brown spray paint on our last visit to Lowe’s and got busy painting, first in Lake Worth then finished it off in Coconut Grove. Here is our tribute to the honorable Testudo! Thanks Wade and Theresa for the grrrrrrreat idea!

Here’s me, at the Lake Worth dinghy landing, painting it green! If you see a few green rocks there on your next stop, it’s my fault :)

Here’s me taping and cutting the painters tape to make the turtle spots. This is when we were on the ocean. The project was good to set my mind at ease! Thanks, Penny, for the awesome knife cutter thing :)
